Concurrent Enrollment Program
Concurrent Enrollment Description and Regulations: Chabot
College provides opportunities for minor students to enroll in college-level,
degree-applicable courses for advanced scholastic or advanced vocational
purposes. Students who desire to participate in concurrent enrollment must be
recommended by their school counselor and principal and have written parental
permission. Concurrently enrolled students will be permitted to enroll in no
more than six units per semester or two classes. The students will be treated as
regular college students and are expected to comply with all college rules and
regulations. At the completion of the course, the student receives college
credit. They must arrange for their own transportation to and from the college
and provide their own books and equipment.
Admission Procedures
APPLY EARLY. Don't wait the last minute. Students should begin process
for concurrent enrollment at least one month before the registration dates below
to allow time for application processing, Director's approval, assessment, and
course registration.

- Read Enrollment Conditions and complete
Recommendation for Concurrent
Enrollment form; obtain all necessary signatures.
- Complete Release of Personal Information/Emergency form.
- Submit current High School transcript.
- Home school students should
submit a copy of their R4 affidavits. (CA Ed Code,
section 33190)
- Submit all required forms together by the deadline in-person or mail to:

- After all required documents are received,
your paperwork will be forward to the Director of Admissions and Records for
approval. You will be notified by email or postal mail of your approved
recommendation and be given a date when you can register using the CLASS-Web
online registration system.

Assessment Test
If you are intending to take any Math, English, or Chemistry classes or any
classes with a prerequisite in Math or English, you must take the Assessment
test to determine your ability in college course(s). Students are strongly
advised to take the Math or English assessment to determine their ability to
benefit from college level courses. For schedule, please visit Assessment Center website.
English Department Policy
Concurrently enrolled students 16 years or older who have achieved at least
junior standing (or the demonstrated equivalent) in high school may enroll in
transfer/associate level English classes if they score for English 1A on the
English Placement Test and students under 16 who
have not achieved junior standing (or demonstrated equivalent) in high school
may not enroll in English class at Chabot College.
No concurrently enrolled students may enroll in English classes below the
transfer/associate degree level (i.e. English 100 level classes). Click here for full English Policy.
Registration Conditions
- Student who receive approval confirmation may begin to register for
courses during the dates listed above.
- Students will automatically dropped from courses not approved by Chabot
College and their school.
- RESTRICTED COURSES: Enrollment in in P.E. or basic
skills courses (i.e. ENGL 100 level classes, MATH 105/L, and all ESL
courses) are not allowed. (Title 5 Regulation, Section 55002)
Fees
Enrollment fees are waived for students in the concurrent
enrollment program. However, a $3.00 mailing fee is assessed to all concurrent enrollment
students in order to provide grade reports at the end of the term. The Health
Services Fee of $15 for the Summer session and $17 for the Fall/Spring semester
are mandatory. Students may be charged for materials fee (if applicable). International,
non-resident, and out-of-state students will be assessed tuition of $215/unit.
