The Chabot Financial Aid Office (FAO) discourages student loan borrowing while at Chabot College, especially borrowing of unsubsidized loans. Please read the Loan Instruction packet given to you and EdFund's Counseling Guide VERY carefully.

  • Proof of Completion of ENTRANCE Counseling

  • Federal Stafford Loan Request Form

Step 3: Upon approval, the Financial Aid Office will certify your loan and send your information through ELM (Educational Loan Management). ELM will electronically submit your information to EDFUND (Guarantor Agency) for guarantee processing.

Step 4: After EdFund guarantees your loan, they will mail you instructions how to sign your MPN (Mastr Promissory Note) on-line.

Step 5: Complete your MPN as instructed by Edfund.
