The Chabot Communication Studies subdivision offers courses for transfer and personal enrichment The core class is public speaking, a course which satisfies the oral communication requirement for transfer to CSU and UC campuses and the AA degree requirement. Other courses generally transfer as humanities courses. Among the specialty courses are ones in interpersonal communication, intercultural communication, debate and forensics. Students who enroll in forensics become part of the forensics team and represent the school at speech tournaments.
