The National
Resource Defense Council
is a very reliable and creiditable website. It provides a large
amount of information about pesticides, global warming, poising of the
waterways, children's health etc., and there effects on the enviorment
and society. The information is verifiable through the agency and
provides data validating its credibility to the researcher. I
find it to be a reputable organazation, however it does request
donations and is backed by sponsors to further its cause. It
provides the researcher valuable information by comparing the pros and
cons of pollutants to the enviorment. While there are states that do
not support recycling nor the use of pesticides. This site tends
to lead credence to support for recycling. It provides you with
several web sites that are well maintained and easily
comprehendible. It was last verified on Monday, December 12th.
The Parliment of Davenport is a
good webiste for the researching pesticides and it effect on
society. The data is strongly supported by international agencies
and scientists. It addresses the effects of pesticides to the
world and the enviorment. The researchers who prepared this
website were scholarly and seem to have the academic prestiege
supporting this site. It allows the research to verify the
history of pesticides and the need for regulation. It also
provides information about the lack of funding in regards to pesticide
research. This website is highly creditable and although it was
last update was May 2000, the information provided appears to be
accurate.
The United
States Enviormental Protection Agency is a highly reliable
website. It provides information on the Enviormental
Protection Agencies Program set up to regulate and inform the public of
legal and illegal toxins. It also provides creditable agencies that can
be contacted in regards to management, network, and control of
pesticides. The information is vast and may at times require a
more indepth or sholarly interpretation as to the regulations and
various documents that it refers you to. It tends to stress the
importance of controlling hazardous waste and materials. It is
overall very informative but would require in-depth research with the
use of a scholar or an indepth web research. This website is
creditable and was last updated 5 December 2005.
This site is about a conference called Wildlife,
Pesticides, and People. It is primarily for supportors
who do not beleive that pesticides should be used in our enviorment
with an emphasis on forests. It tends to be biased to the views
of this Conference and supports there one-sided view point. The
composers are scholars so they are creditable, however it is vastly one
sided. It does not allow room for discussions of pesticides and
how they effect forests and the enviorment as a whole. Although I
find the site creditable, I think that it is biased. Although
creditable, I would suggest that up to date research be conducted
through the library or the web. It does provide several links for
research and seems to be well prepared. This web site is from a
conference that was conducted in September 1998.
The Pesticide
Information Network is a very informative website. It
provides you with supportive links that you can research the various
pesticides by chemical name and its composition. It provides you
with a comprehensive link to its data base and appears to be highly
creditable. It appears to provide the researcher with creditable
information to determine whether you are for or against pestide
useage. This site is informative, easily understandable and is
update frequently. The last update was conducted on 12 December
2005.
