The Student Mathematics League contest is sponsored by the American Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges. This math contest is given each year in two rounds, one in Fall semester and one in Spring semester. Any Chabot student who does not already have a two-year college or higher degree may compete.
Each round consists of a twenty question multiple-choice test in precalculus mathematics. It is challenging and fun to try. Usually more than a hundred Chabot students participate in each round.
We honor and give prizes to the top scorers at Chabot. We also compete with other colleges as a school; the top five scores in each round become the Chabot team score. The top scoring individuals in the nation are awarded prizes, with first prize being a $3,000 scholarship.
Your math instructor will let you know the dates of the contest. If you are not taking a Math class, see Joe Berland in Office 2022 or call him at 723-7452. We encourage you to exercise your competitive and intellectual spirit by participating in this contest!
