Blackboard was upgraded on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at 5pm. The district-wide Blackboard system (for both Chabot and LPC classes) was upgraded from Blackboard 9.1 Service Pack 13 to the Blackboard 9.1 April 2014 release.

While this is not a major upgrade, it includes some new features and fixes from Service Pack 14 and the April 2014 releases. Features and functions include:

Student Preview

Instructors can view their course exactly as a student does by using a student account the system generates for them.

SafeAssign is now integrated into regular Assignments (no longer separate SafeAssignments). And the look of the SafeAssign Originality Report has been updated.

Anonymous Grading and
Delegated Grading

Instructors can hide student names from submitted assignments for anonymous grading. Instructors can delegate grading to specific users.

My Grades

The look and feel of My Grades has been updated. Students now view feedback by clicking View Feedback.

Course Message Notifications

Those using Course Messages can now choose to receive notifications of new messages within their Blackboard account or via email.

Test Total Points Adjustment:

This enhancement address several related needs, all revolving around the total points possible for tests, and needing to adjust the total points possible. In an earlier release, a change was made to Grade Center columns that were automatically created to show Test results. Now, there is a way for users to adjust the total Points Possible for a Test while maintaining the integrity of the previous change described above.

A "Score Attempts Using" (Last Grade Attempt, Highest Grade, etc.) drop-down list has been added to the Test Options and Create Assignments pages.
