The PACE Education Plan meets requirements for an AA Degree in Liberal Studies, Option I (a minimum of Math 65 or Bus. 16 is required) or Option II (a minimum of Math 40 or equivalent is required) EXCEPT 1 unit of PE 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 12, 13, 13R, 14, 30-48, or 50 is also required for students starting or returning to Chabot in Fall 2002 or later.  An AA Degree in Behavioral Science requires one additional class in Area D or B of “Graduation Requirements” and a minimum of Math 65 or Business 16.  Other AA/AS or transfer majors require additional classes.

An AA Degree requires a minimum of 60 degree-applicable units (the PACE Education Plan includes approximately 60 units, but varies depending on how many math and other classes are taken).  All PACE courses are both degree-applicable and CSU transferable, except: Math 105 and English 102, which are neither; and Math 65 and 55, which are not CSU transferable.

This PACE Education Plan also meets lower division CSU General Education Breadth Requirements for CSU transfer EXCEPT a minimum of 60 transferable units and Math 40 or equivalent are required; the PACE Education Plan includes 52 transferable units.  Students transferring to CSUEB PACE in the BA Human Development major have no additional requirements.  Students transferring to CSUEB PACE in the BA Liberal Studies Major may need additional classes, including one additional course in Math, Statistics or Computer Science, and one additional Western Heritage class (English 20, History 1 or 2, or Humanities 28 or 35).  Starting Fall 2006, CSUEB PACE offers a new major in Leadership in Hospitality & Leisure Services.  The following options are also available: Business Minor or Option (Economics 1 & 2 are required outside of PACE), and a Human Development Option.     7/06
