WOMEN'S SOFTBALL

4/21/2009:  Softball hosted CSM for their final Season and home game of the year. The Lady Gladiators battled hard, but came up short losing the game 6 - 8 and playoff competition.

4/18/2009:  Softball Traveled to powerhouse Ohlone College for a chance to take a win from the leader. The lady Glads fell just short losing 0-2. The Softball team is sitting in the 3rd spot in their league hoping to end up in second place. With only two games left in the season one against last place CCSF and 2nd place CSM. The lady Glads can end up having a playoff game if the finish out winning both games.

4/14/2009:  Softball hosted De Anza College for their fourth to last game of the regular season and showed domination, beating the lady Dons 11 - 2.

3/29/2009:  Softball hosted Santa Rosa Junior College for a non conference double header losing both games with a score of 4-8 in the first game and 3-7 in the second game.

3/26/2009:  Softball hosted Diablo Valley College for a non conference game and just came up short losing 8-9.

3/24/2009:   Softball hosted San Jose City College. The lady Gladiators fought hard, but just was not enough losing 3 runs to 11 runs.

3/19/2009:  Softball hosted Gavilan College and faced them in a tournament, in which Chabot blew the lead to lose that game. This time around the lady Glads did not want that same fate. The lady Glads did not play to there potential or were they distracted because they played without head coach Chelsea Spencer. The lady Glads lost in 5 inning with a score of 2-12.

3/17/2009:  Softball hosted Hartnell College in a conference game and keep grinding at the standing for that top position. The lady Gladiators played with poise and determination and beat Hartnell in a lopsided 10-4 score.

3/15/2009:  Softball continued their tournament play against Fresno City college and lost with a score of 6-7.

3/14/2009:  Softball traveled to Ohlone College for tournament play, in which they face off against Siskiyous losing 8-0.

3/12/2008:  Softball traveled to Monterey Peninsula College in hopes of continuing their winning ways. The lady Gladiators beat the Lobos 3-1.

3/10/2009:  Softball traveled to College of San Mateo for a conference game and the Lady Gladiators beat the Bulldogs 6-2.

3/7/2009:  Softball traveled to Fresno City for tournament play. The team faced Santa Rosa and lost a close game 6-7. They also played College of the Canyons and also lost a close one 3-5. The lady gladiators faced three other opponents (No info provided) and won. Overall the softball team were 3 wins and 2 losses for the tournament.

3/5/2009:  Softball hosted Ohlone College for a chance to stay on top of the division. Chabot battled hitting two homeruns by Nikki Freiburg and Brittany Wright to have the lead for a couple of inning, but Ohlone was to strong for Chabot as they pulled away in the later innings. Chabot scored 4 runs to Ohlone's 9 runs.

2/28/2009:  Softball had a double header against Redwoods and American River College (ARC). First game was against Redwwods and the lady Glads showed poise on defense and patience at the plate. Chabot pitcher Emily Cipolla had a great game and plenty of help offensively with Rachael Savoy going 3-for-3 and Nikki Freiburg hitting a three run homerun giving the lady Glads a 5 game win streak with the score Chabot 8 Redwoods 1.

Softball played ARC in their 2nd game of the day and what a game. Both teams played good defense, but Chabot overcame and beats out ARC with a score of 4-2.

2/26/2009:  Softball traveled to De Anza College and continued their win streak beating De Anza with a score of 9-8.

2/24/2009:  Softball hosted Mission College for their third conference game and a chance to go on a three game win streak. The Lady Gladiators played good defense and explosive offense that pummeled Mission beating them with a score of 9-0 in 5 innings.

2/200/2009:  Softball traveled to Foothill for a make up game, due to rain on Tuesday. Chabot beats Foothill with a score of 8-4.

2/19/2009:  Softball hosted CCSF in hopes of winning their third game of the season and did so in a lopsided win 12-3 in 5 innings.

2/5/2009:  Softball hosts Solano College in a non-conference game. The lady Glads started the first inning with a couple of runs, but could not hold off Solano losing in 7 innings with a score of 7-4. (No stats provided)

1/31/2009:  Softball hosts Cosumnes River College in a double header and their season opener. Chabot fought hard, but Cosumnes was to strong beating Chabot in the 1st game 13-1 and in the 2nd game 16-0.


3/1/2008:  Softball traveled to Cosumnes River College for another Double header for the week. The lady gladiators returned home with two losses. First game, the loss came with a mercy rule with the score of 10-2. The second game was 4-11 loss for the lady Gladiators.

2/28/2008:  Softball visited Mission College with hopes of taken another win against the Saints, but fell short losing 1-2. (no stats provided)

 2/26/2008:  Softball traveled to Foothill College for a Double Header. The lady Gladiators cruised in both games beating the Owls 15-1 in the first game and 18-0 in the second game. (No stats provided).

2/2/08:  Softball faced Diablo Valley College and won both games, 1st game was 11-2 and 2nd game was 7-4. Starting picther for both game was Jessica Bonilla.


4/19/2007:  Softball hosted Foothill for their last home game. The lady Glads battled hard winning the game 12-2 (no stats provided).

4/7/2007:  Softball hosted Mission College easily beating them in 5 innings 13-5. Stephanie Anderson was the winning pitcher and Francis Gasmena came in the ballgame to finish the game. Amber Merrigan had an amazing game going 4-4 with 4 singles, and RBI and 2 stolen bases. Sam Sirico also added 2-3 at bats with an RBI and 2 stolen bases. Stephanie Neal went 3-3 with 2 singles, a double, a stolen base, and 2 RBI's.

 4/5/2007:  Softball traveled to Hartnell College losing a heartbreaker 7-8. Chabot was leading the ballgame 7-3 in the sixth inning, but Hartnell battled back to squeek out the win. Sam Sirico had an amazing game going 4-4 with 2 singles, a double, HR, 2 RBI's and a stolen base. Amber Merrigan also had a good game going 2-4 with two singles, and RBI, a Stolen Base, and a run scored.

4/3/2007:  Softball hosted West Valley College losing in a close game 2-5. Chabot played well, but West Valley pitching and defense shut out the offense. Amber Merrigan had a good game going 2-3 at bats with 1 run scored. Stephanie Neal went 1-3 with a double and an RBI.

3/23/2007:  Softball visited De Anza beating them in a close game 7-6. Stephanie Anderson was the winning pitcher striking out two and providing the defense with plenty of ground balls. Regina Martinez went 1-2. April Valderrama went 1-3 with RBI's and Sam Sirico went 2-4 with 2 RBI's.

3/22/2007:  Softball hosted Cabrillo losing 9-2. Sam Sirico went 1-3 with a run scored by stealing home. Regina Martinez went 1-3 with and RBI.

3/20/2007:  Softball hosted De Anza beating them in a comeback in the 10 inning with a score of 17-16. Top performances were from Rachel Demiguel who went 3-6 with 3 RBI's, Amber Merrigan went 4-6 with 3 RBI's, and Regina Martinez went 2-5 with the game winning RBI. Frances Gasmena was the winning pitcher.

3/15/2007:  Softball Traveled to Foothill College, beating them 20-0 (no stats provided).

3/13/07:  Softball hosted City College of San Francisco losing 1-5 (No stats provided).

3/9/2007:  Softball hosted Foothill College from a rescheduled game beating them 10-2 (non stats provided).

3/6/2007:  Softball also hosted San Mateo losing in six innings 2-12 (no stats provided).

3/2/2007:  Softball hosted Diablo Valley College to a double header losing both games. First game the Lady Gladiators lost 0-24 (No stats provided). Second game Chabot lost 2-11 (no stats provided).

3/1/2007:  Softball visited Mission College losing a close game 5-6 (no stats provided).

02/06/06:  Women Softball Team played this past weekend against Lassen College, Hartnell College and Merced College at Merced on Saturday and Sunday February 10 - 11. Chabot lost all four games.  Record: 0 - 4


5/2/05:  Here's a quick update on our season's end. We lost to San Mateo 8-1.

We beat San Francisco 10-1. Lost in extra innings to Hartnell. Gave up a 3 run homer in the top of the 8th to lose 3-0.

Our last game was also extra innings against De Anza College. 0-0 going into the bottom of the 10th inning. An error put a runner on for De Anza , they bunted her over and then a line drive hit off our third basemans glove allowed the winning run to score from second.

We played a lot of close games that could have went either way.

Over all record was 9-32, League we finished 4th 5-14.

4/13/05:  We lost a tough game to Ohlone. 4-1.

Amy Espinoza pitched great. Only gave up 6 hits and struck out 4. ERA. 1.164 (Only 1 earned run. 3 runs scored on Errors by the defense)

Sukai Curtis-Contreras lead off the 6th inning with a single to left field. Sharise Coleman hit an RBI Double to left center making the score 2-1. Ohlone had a lead off triple in the bottom of the 6th and a base hit and an error . Final score 4-1.

League record 4-11.    8-29 overall

4/12/05:  Chabot played April 2 against Merced College two games and lost both games by a score of 1 - 10 and 0 - 2.

On April 5th, Chabot played against Cabrillo College and lost 1 - 3. On April 6th, Chabot played a makeup game with College of San Mateo and lost a close one 4 - 5. On April 7th, Chabot played against San Jose City College and lost 0 - 12.

And yesterday afternoon Chabot played in another makeup game against Monterey Peninsula College and lost 9 - 3.

Conference Record: 4 - 9. Overall Record: 8 - 27.

3/18/05:  Last weekend, March 12th, the Chabot Softball Team played in Fremont in the Ohlone Tournament. Chabot went 1-4. Losing to Taft College 3-2, losing to Solano College 7-0 and also losing to Consumnes River 6-4 all on Saturday. On Sunday, Chabot beat Lassen College 5-1 and lost its last game to Consumnes River 2-1.

On Tuesday, March 15th , Chabot beat De Anza college 5-1. Then on Wednesday, March 16th , Chabot lost a close game to Gavilan College 9-7. Chabot lead all the way to the 5th inning. Then in the 5th made 4 errors and gave up 6 hits and 7 runs. Chabot almost came back in the 7th inning with 5 hits and 4 runs and leaving the wiining run on first base.

3/8/05: 

2/15/05:  Women's Softball played on Thursday, Feb. 10 against San Francisco City College here at Chabot. Chabot won by a score of 8 - 0.  Jamina Knowles went 3 for 3, 3 runs, 2 RBIs and 2 triples. Lilia Vazques went 2 for 2, 2 runs, 1 RBI, a single and a triple.  Brandi Vargas went 3 for 3, 1 RBI, 2 singles and 1 double. Amy Espinoza went 2 for 3, 1 RBI, 1 run, pitching 5 strike outs.

Conference Record: 1 - 0. Overall Record: 2 - 3.

2/9/05:  Women Softball has started and they recently played played 4 games. Chabot played Cabrillo College and lost to them 3 - 11.

They played Porterville College and lost to them 0 - 23. And also lost to them again 0 - 17. But then Chabot played Contra Costa College and beat them 13 - 1. Jamina Knowles was 2 for 3, 3 RBI'S, 3 singles, 1 double, 2 runs and a stolen base. Sharise Coleman went 3 for 4, 3 RBI'S, 2 singles. She pitched 2 innings and had 6 strike outs. Brandi Vargas pitched a 1Hitter, 3 innings with 6 strike outs.
