Program Review Frequently Asked Questions

Why did the Program Review process change?

Many faculty had complained that the old process was not worth the effort; that it was a "bindering" exercise, where the work went into a binder, which was then placed on a shelf and forgotten. We wanted to make this a worthwhile process so that the faculty will feel that the effort they invest in the Program Review process will benefit their programs and their students.

My Program is supposed to start Program Review this year. How do we get started?

Click on the Getting Started link. Attend one of the training sessions during Fall semester. Also, the Program Review Committee members are available to meet with you individually or in your department meetings.

The Basic Discipline Review appears to duplicate a lot of the content in the Unit Plan. Do we have to do both?

During your first year of the Program Review process your Basic Discipline Review and Rock Proposal will substitute for your Unit Plan. It is important to note that if you will be requesting staffing, budget, technology, or anything that that would be normally be included in your Unit Plan, include this in your Basic Discipline Review.
