Academic & Personal Counseling
ASPIRE utilizes a holistic approach to “academic advising” that
focuses on the “whole student” and the various issues that impact
academic performance. Counselors help students think critically about their
academic and personal lives and assists them in identifying resources and support
services to help them navigate the educational system and meet their goals.
Through individualized counseling sessions students discuss academic
progress, major requirements, transfer requirements and inter-personal issues.
Each student will develop a Student Educational Plan (SEP) that lists
recommended courses and is revised and updated every semester. The SEP will also
help with course selection during pre-registration.
