Sample Offerings

Foundational Retreats

  • Typically 2-days; 6-8 hours
  • Designed for 20-25 participants. (February)
  • Focused on building common language and practices to identify and address inequity.

Advanced Retreats 

  • Typically 2 days, 6-8 hours approx. 
  • Designed for 20- 25 participants (August)
  • Focused on understanding white supremacy culture and its antidotes.

Leadership Institute 

  • Typically 2 days, 6-8 hours
  • Designed for 20-25 participants
  • A creative space for leaders to design and implement large scale equity projects and to practice collaborative ways of leading for equity.  Topics vary, depending on the participant’s interests and campus needs.  Past projects focused on topics such as Amplifying Equity in Social Sciences and Equitable Hiring Practices.

Institutes: Classified Inquiry Group (CIG) or Faculty (Pedagogy) Inquiry Groups 

  • Typically semester long, 2-6 hours per month
  • Designed for 8-15 participants 
  • Session materials co-designed with target audience input. Departments may request a group focused on Equity in Business Courses or Equity in the Financial Aid Office.  Or, a group may form based on colleague needs such as a new faculty community of practice or a classified professionals community of practice.
  • More than one group may run each semester.

Whole Campus Sessions

  • Upon request, a 2-4 hour large group session can be designed.  Past examples include a College Day Session about Transformative Justice and the series of virtual sessions offered for the 10x10 Village Trainings throughout the 2020-2021 academic year.

Retreats for Committees or Departments

  • Typically a 3-4 hour session for a particular department (ex., English) or committee (ex., SASE) to focus on a single topic.
  • Session materials designed with input from the target audience.

Publishing Groups

  • Podcast and Blog writing inquiry groups.
  • Designed to support 4-8 participants in publishing best thinking about equitable practices and policies.

Affinity Groups: BIPOC Flag  and Anti-racist Allies with White Privilege

  • Typically 2-hour sessions, offered 2-4 times per semester
  • Designed for 5-25 participants
  • Content is focused on deepening anti-racist, anti-oppressive efforts and healing the harm causd by white supremacy culture.
