Course Description
MTH 55 - Intermediate Algebra
Credits: 5.00
Concepts involving complex numbers, quadratic equations, parabolas and
circles, functions and their graphs, systems of equations, rational
exponents, radical equations, absolute value equations and inequalities,
exponential and logarithmic functions and equations. Prerequisites:
Mathematics 65 or Mathematics 65B or Mathematics 65L (completed with a grade
of "C" or higher) or an appropriate skill level demonstrated through the
Mathematics Assessment process. May not receive credit if Mathematics 55A
and Mathematics 55B or Mathematics 55L have been completed.

The MTH55 FINAL EXAM is
scheduled as indicated in the Syllabus
Students are asked to bring to the Final Exam:
- Scientific Calculator
- Ruler
- Pencil & Pen
- Student Reference CARD = A 3"x5" Flash-Card upon
which the student may write ANYTHING that he/she thinks might help
him/her do better on the Exam

Note that for all Exams there will be ASSSIGNED
SEATING as described in the Syllabus:
All Exams are CLOSED-Book. There will be three MidTerm
exams and a Final exam as indicated on the Schedule.
- There will be ASSIGNED SEATING for all exams.
- On Exam Days the instructor will place the
exams on the desks, FACE DOWN, with a student name written on the
back of the Exam. Each Student is requested to find the exam with
his/her name on it and take that seat withOUT turning over the exam
until notified by the instructor.
- All students are requested to be ON TIME on Exam
Days.
