How are online classes different than traditional courses?

All assignments – exams, web homework, and research projects – are completed and submitted online. Interaction with your instructor and classmates takes place through email and discussion forums. You will have 24/7 access to class materials.

What specific technical skills and software do I need?

It’s best if you have some experience surfing the web, sending emails with attachments and generally enjoy being online. You’ll need reliable online access, a standard browser – Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator, versions 4 or higher – and an email account.

Not required, but preferred software for document uploads: any version of Microsoft Word.

Special note to AOL users: Use Internet Explorer to access the course, not the AOL browser.
