Chabot College Fitness Center
The Chabot College Fitness program is designed for people who are interested in getting the greatest benefit they can in a limited amount of time.  The Chabot College Fitness program delivers a total body workout in a quick and efficient manner.  This structured training program provides flexible scheduling to meet your restrictive time demands.

Each circuit contains 24 stations: 12 Cybex Machines and 12 Bikes.
You have 30 seconds of exercise at each station and 15 seconds to rotate and setup at the next station.  
With a 5 minute warm-up and cool down one circuit takes 25 minutes.

The completion of One Circuit is required at each visit. After you complete a circuit you have the option of using the cardio equipment or strength train with the Cybex VR2 Strength Machines that are in the body part area of the fitness center. Learn how to exercise properly with the Fitlinxx computer system.
 

 

Steps You Need to Follow If You Want to Join the Chabot Fitness Center

1. Enroll in Chabot College -
Application for Admission to Chabot College
2. Register for PHED 2FC0 Fitness for Heart/Health/Fat Loss - Register Online for Chabot (Class Web)
3. Get a Student ID Card - How to Get a Student ID Card (You must have this!)

4. Read the Rules for Orientation and Training in the Fitness Center -Rules for Orientation and Training in the Chabot Fitness Center
5. Read and Fill out the Paperwork for the Class - Paperwork for Orientation for Chabot Fitness Center
6. Review How to Put on Heart Monitor and Figure Out Your Target Heart Rate Training Zones. Know these numbers because they will be used in the orientation.
7. Attend a Fitness Center Orientation -
Don't forget to bring your paperwork, a towel, heart monitor strap and student id card with you

Returning Students (who have gone through orientation) can register and get started in the Fitness Center. Use CRN 10312 and start attending.

New Students register for  CRN  10312 and then attend any orientation. Orientations are held Monday thru Thursday at 5:15 PM or Mondays and Thursdays at 9:15 AM.

Fitness Center Hours Summer 2009 starts June 15th

Monday thru Thursday -   5 a.m. to 1:30 PM & 4 to 7:50 PM
Fridays - 5 a.m. to 1:30 pm
Saturdays - 7:30 am to 11 am

2009 Fall

Fitness Center Hours Fall 2009 starts August 17th

Monday thru Thursday -   5 a.m. to 1:30 PM & 4 to 7:50 PM
Fridays - 5 a.m. to 1:30 pm
Saturdays - 7:30 am to 11 am

New Students for the Fall register using CRN 22674


Remember a circuit with warm-up & cool down takes at least 30 minutes so you must be in the room a minimum of 40 minutes prior to closing.


Student must be ON TIME and dressed in work out attire, sweats, t-shirt, and athletic shoes for the orientations. 

 Students must bring A HEART MONITOR STRAP
(purchase at the bookstore for $7.00), a Chabot Student ID Card (get the registration form and driver license to Rm 2361 for a free ID Card), and a towel to the orientation.

What is Blackboard?

Once you are enrolled in the Fitness Heart Healthy/Fat Loss Fitness 2009 in the Chabot Fitness Center go to Blackboard at: clpccd.blackboard.com and log in. Here is how to login

Username: Your Student Identification Number
Password: The first two letters of your first name, followed by the first two letters of your last name (all lowercase), followed by the last four digits of your new User Identification Number.

For example, Maria Valdez with a User Identification Number of W12345678 would log in as:

Username: W12345678 (the W is uppercase)
Password: mava5678 (all lowercase letters + last four digits)

Once you are in blackboard double click on my courses.  Now click on the tools button on the right side of the screen.
