What You Will Need

You must purchase  "You on a Diet" by Oz. The book can be purchased at the Chabot Bookstore http://www.clpccd.cc.ca.us/bookstore/

Also get yourself a heart rate monitor.  There are a number of different brands on the market.  A good, cost effective, reliable monitor that will meet most people's needs is the "Polar F1" heart rate monitor.  It can be purchased for around $50 and will provide years of excellent service.  The Polar F1 can be found at most sporting goods stores, Target or WalMart.

You can start assignments as soon as blackboard opens. There are no on campus class meetings. You never have to come to Chabot to see me (unless you want to)

Click here - What is Blackboard & how to login

One change you may already know of is that you have been assigned a new student User ID for Class-Web, and so this affects the Blackboard login.

Username: Your new User Identification Number
Password: the first two letters of your first name, followed by the first two letters of your last name (all lowercase), followed by the last four digits of your new User Identification Number.

For example, Maria Valdez with a User Identification Number of W12345678 would log in as:

Username: W12345678 (the W is uppercase)
Password: mava5678 (all lowercase letters + last four digits)

Now go clpccd.blackboard.com and try to login.

If you are enrolled in the course you can now login to blackboard and add your email address in tools. It takes 24 hours after you have enrolled through class web for your name to be uploaded into blackboard.

Is Online Learning Right for Me?
Students who do well in fully online classes typically have very good study skills, are very self-directed, able to create and stick to a firm study schedule. If you find it hard to learn on your own, or find you really need to learn with others in a group setting the fully online course may not be for you.  The key to success is setting aside time each week to complete one to two chapters and their internet activities.  If you can keep a consistent weekly approach you will find it is easier to learn the material.

To achieve the goals of the course all online students will be given weekly assignments.  The assignment must be completed on time and turned in before the next assignment will be given. A lack of response to assignments or email from the instructor will be interpreted as a sign that you are no longer interested in the class.

Here is a self quiz to take if you still are not sure if an online class is for you

Do I have to come to Class?

No, the class is offered totally online.  You are never required to come to campus, even for tests! But you are welcome to come to campus and see me.  Tests and activities for the class are completed online.

How can I ADD this class?

If you are interested in adding the class, first check out Class Web...if there is still space available go ahead and enroll. If class web shows that the course is full send me an email.   (kgrace@ChabotCollege.edu) at your earliest convenience.
