John Gutierrez
Chair
 


Director of Government Affairs, Comcast Cable

John has been a board member since 2004.  He has been instrumental in assisting with public relations and marketing since joining the Board and assumes the duties of Chair with enthusiasm and passion.  Mr. Gutierrez's knowledge of the media industry has provided high exposure for the College and the Foundation.  John comes from a family of educators and feels that given his roots in Hayward his efforts should support the College. 


George Famous

Principal, FAMOUSdesigns Architects, Inc.

George has been with the Foundation since 2005.  He has participated in many of the major events and was a part of the first On Stage with the Moscow Ballet event as a volunteer with Chabot Live.  George chaired the Evening at the Starlight Club event held on November 18, 2006.  The event was a huge success and brought $60,000 in revenue.  Mr. Famous' architectural firm offers a comprehensive suite of services from design to project management (www.famousarhcitects.com).  In his spare time, he designs fundraising events for the Foundation. 


Gordon Galvan
Vice Chair
 


Principal, Galvan & Associates

Gordon has been with the Board since its founding in 2003.  He has chaired several major special events and currently heads up the Major Gift program for the Foundation.  Mr. Galvan's business is focused on governmental affairs and his experience has assisted the Foundation's efforts to connect with the surrounding communities.  Gordon is a Chabot College alumnus and feels strongly that higher education, and particular Chabot College, is important in the economic development of the surrounding communities.

 


Brian K. Johnson
Treasurer

Brian joined the Board in 2005, and given his experience as a Tax and Financial Consultant, assumed the role as Treasurer this term.  Brian is passionate about education and feels strongly that non-profits have a responsibility to manage their funds with a high level of integrity.  Brian has been active since joining the Board, and beyond his financial management contribution, he has been active with several events since joining the Board.

 


Tammy Papazian

Retired, Retail

Tammy is a Chabot College alumna and has demonstrated extraordinary leadership since joining the Board in 2005.  She was active with the very spirited Homecoming Celebration last fall and recently chaired the most successful Foundation event in history, Blooming Affaire-Explosion of Design 2006! The event entertained hundreds of patrons and raised funds for the nursing and interior design programs.  Ms. Papazian brings years of experience in the retail profession and works well with people from all walks of life.  Tammy's focus as an Executive Board member is to ensure that all Directors participate to bring support to the students and faculty. 


Richard Hong
Immediate Past Chair


Vice President, California Bank & Trust, Hayward Office

Richard has been a Board member since 2003 and was Chair of the Foundation Board in 2004 and 2005.  Under his leadership, revenue grew by nearly 100%, and he personally raised nearly $70,000 for the Foundation during his tenure.  Richard will focus his attentions on the financial management of the Foundation.  He feels that the trust of the donors depend upon keen fiscal management.
