Campus Employee Giving Campaign
The Chabot College Foundation would like to offer you an
opportunity to make a monthly donation to the campus program of your
choice and take a tax deduction through our Employee Giving
Campaign.
We have over 500 full-time employees on our campus. If one quarter of us
gave $10 a month, that would total $15,000 in support of campus programs
per year! These funds are unrestricted and independently managed by the
Chabot College Foundation, a separate 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
Following are a few opportunities for giving, but you can personalize
your deduction to fund any campus program of your choosing. I have
attached a PDF with the Payroll Deduction Form which can be returned to
the Foundation Office in Room 220. There are no minimum or maximum
amounts for giving and ALL contributions make a difference.
Textbook Rental Program
Launched in Spring 2009 with one Health textbook, the Foundation has
partnered with the Bookstore and ASCC to expand the selections available
to our students for Fall 2009 and beyond. We also worked with our Grant
Writer and the Bookstore Manager and are awaiting the results of a
$250,000 Federal Grant application. This is a self-sustaining program
that allows for continuing growth over the years.
Title III Grant: Center for Teaching & Learning
Matching Opportunity
Donations to this fund will be matched by the Grant. The funds will be
set up in a 20-year endowment which could total up to $500,000 within
five years, if we hit our match goal of $50,000 each year. The interest
from this endowment is unrestricted and can support a range of
professional development, training, and other activities for faculty and
staff. You'll hear more about the Center for Teaching & Learning during
President Barberena's Welcome at College Day on Friday, August 14th.
(Note: These are federal funds that must be matched with non-federal
funds. We will lose any unmatched funds if we do not hit our annual
goals.)
Award/Scholarships
The Foundation manages the funds for the Dr. Robert Carlson Classified
Staff Award and three memorial scholarships (Sarah Forsyth, Brett
Haagenson and Connie Silva). Contributions to these funds benefit
recipients selected by committees annually.
Departmental Programs
You may choose to contribute funds to a specific department, program
or even a Club. The Foundation currently manages over 30 separate
campus funds.
Donations to any program through the Chabot College Foundation
are tax deductible and an acknowledgment of your donation will be
provided for tax purposes upon request.
Feel free to send me an email or call with any questions regarding the
Employee Giving Campaign. I'll report the success of the campaign in a
future Hotsheet!
Regards,
Heidi FOUNDATION PAYROLL DEDUCTION FORM
