The Forecast of Funding Opportunities is by no means a complete list (although it is well-researched and pretty comprehensive). The intention behind it is to give faculty, staff and divisions enough lead time to plan and develop their projects and proposals. Many of these opportunities are annual so if you miss one this year, it is usually held again at approximately the same time the following year. The Grants Subcommittee of the Institutional Planning and Budget Council (IPBC) uses this funding forecast to track federal grant programs relevant to Chabot's mission and strategic plan priorities. Stay tuned for an update spring semester regarding new grant initiatives planned for 2002-2003.

Kudos to…Kip Waldo in Social Sciences/Staff Development and Diana Curl in the Children's Center for successful grant applications this fall! Kip Waldo recently received a grant award from the California Council for the Humanities to support Chabot's "Eyes on the World" speaker series and Diana Curl obtained a grant from the U.S. Department of Education to supplement funds for evening child care services. Way to go Kip and Diana!
Congratulations… also to Dr. Denise Noldon for her recent grant application (pending) to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) which seeks to add a space science component to Chabot's successful National Youth Sports Program (NYSP). Additionally, a Special Thanks to all involved in Chabot's recent submission of our final Advanced Technological Education (ATE) proposal to the National Science Foundation (NSF) in October (pending).
