Jazz Festival

Welcome to our Seventh annual Chabot College Jazz Festival on March 3, 2012. This all-day festival is designed to have COMPETITIVE and NON-COMPETITIVE events to develop young jazz musicians in an educational environment. Adjudicators include some of the premiere educators in the Greater Bay Area.

Part of our Jazz Festival is to present world class performers to the community as well as to festival participants at an affordable price. Our past guest artists include Geoffrey Keezer, Eddie Palmieri Latin Jazz, Gordon Goodwin, Ernie Watts, Lew Soloff, Matt Catingub, Steve Turre and Eric Marienthal.

This years Jazz Guest Artist is Trumpeter, Wayne Bergeron

Our new user-friendly website has several interactive features to make our festival more enjoyable.

Returning Jazz directors just needs to Log In (If you switched schools, you need to create a new account)
Online application to the festival (1st-timers need to create an account)
Jazz directors have the ability to listen and download adjudicator comments and Audio performance
Jazz directors can instantly access their school scores

Entries/Entry Fees

Each school can bring a maximum of 6 entries; 3 Big Bands and 3 Combos.

Early Bird application received on or before October 15, 2011. Fees must be received by November 15, 2011

$200 - for Big Band
$125 - for Combo

Regular application received after November 15, 2011.

$250 - for Big Band
$175 - for Combo
