Finding Books

This module covers how to search the Library Catalog for mainly physical items in the Library's collection

When you have completed this module you should be able to:

  • recognize that the Library Catalog contains more than books
  • Know how to limit your search to mostly physical items in the Library's collection
  • find books on a topic using a keyword search
  • find books by title, author, or subject heading
  • identify the location of books and audiovisual materials
  • read a call number and use it to find items in the library
  • find an item placed on reserve using a Reserve Desk search

Time: this module should take about thirty-five minutes.
