Two Types of Periodical Databases

2. Subject  Databases

  • Is your topic in a particular subject area?

Most often you will still search one of our All Subject databases, especially EBSCOhost Academic Search Premier.  However, the Library does have subject databases listed under Key Subjects on the Articles page.  Subject databases specialize in a particular subject, and the articles indexed are generally from scholarly sources. Examples of subject databases and the kinds of articles they identify are:

Artemis Literary Sources

CINAHL logo
CINAHL Plus Text indexes articles in scholarly and trade journals in the nursing, allied, health, medical assistant professions, in addition to a number of other journals related to health and medicine.  Some articles are in full text.
