Timothy Devine Devine
is a native of the San Francisco Bay Area and has played professionally
for the past 18 years. He has performed extensively throughout the Bay
Area, North America, Europe and Australia and is well versed in many
musical styles including: big band, small-group jazz, musical theater,
salsa, blues, rock/pop, and R&B. This multi-instrumentalist (alto,
tenor, soprano saxes, clarinet, bass clarinet, flute, and piccolo) has
performed and recorded with legendary jazz, blues, rock and pop stars
such as: Joe Williams, B.B. King (Grammy Award 1993), Louie Bellson,
Cedar Walton, Ray Charles, Liza Minnelli, Isaac Hayes, Bernadette
Peters, and Manhattan Transfer. He is also very active in musical
theater, recently playing for pre-Broadway, world premiers of: Lestat
(featuring the music of Sir Elton John), The Mambo Kings, and Lennon
along with other national tours (including: Chicago, The 25th Annual
Putnam County Spelling Bee) and local cabaret shows (Teatro Zinzanni).
Mr. Devine received his master’s degree from Washington State University
(Pullman, WA) and has remained active in education. He is currently an
instructor at Chabot College (Hayward, CA) and Las Positas College
(Livermore, CA), teaching Music Appreciation, Music Fundamentals, and
saxophone and clarinet students. |
