The Latinx Scholar Chat welcome Yessica Ramirez, a 2019 scholarship recipient who graduated from Chabot College and is currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science at Cal State East Bay. Alongside being a Latina in pursuit of a STEM degree, Yessica volunteers at the Hispanic Foundation as a Girls Who Code instructor. As a first-generation college student, Yessica acknowledges her exposure to the high-tech industry in Silicon Valley is limited. Luckily, our Conexiones (Connections) Program was created for scholars just like Yessica, where they can build a relationship with other Latinx professionals working in their desired field of interest.
