Detail 2009 Fall schedule for Fitness For Everyone
v GENERAL INFORMATION
Ø This course offers a time-flexible, well-balanced exercise program.
Ø The schedule includes fitness, swimming and strength training classes. It DOES NOT INCLUDE THE FITNESS CENTER.
Ø Each student must be registered in the class. Please do not invite guests to workout with you.
Ø Parking: $30 for the semester (available in the Bookstore) or $2.00 daily.
Ø Try to attend a variety of classes and instructors. You might decide to enroll in their class next semester.
Ø After registering, immediately go to Blackboard and submit your email address: http://clpccd.blackboard.com/
Ø Follow the “Log-in” directions and receive updated class information, cancelled classes, time changes, etc.
v HOW THE CLASS WORKS
Ø Following orientation, students will be issued a special “Fitness For Everyone” ID card which must be with you anytime you attend one of the classes on the schedule.
Ø Check out the schedule on the back of the information sheet.
Ø Be sure to check the day & time the class begins; you must arrive to the class on time.
Ø The instructor of that specific class can accept or deny your entrance. The reasons may be:
§ Not dressed appropriately.
§ Not on time, Class is at capacity
§ Your lack of participation the previous time you attended.
Ø Remember, the instructor always has the final say.
Ø Upon entering, submit your ID card to the instructor.
§ The instructor will sign and date the card.
§ After class, pick up your ID card.
Ø Strength Training – you must wear a t-shirt and have a towel (no tank tops, sleeveless shirts)
v I.D. CARDS
Ø Returning students can pick up an ID card from the instructor. (See office hours above.)
Ø New Students will receive a card following the orientation.
Ø Each card has 20 squares for the instructor’s signature and date. It is your responsibility to complete this.
Ø If you lose your ID card, there is a replacement fee of $10. There is no way of verifying attendance.
Ø When your hours are completed on each card, you must return it to Ella Vilche, Rm. 2610.
Ø If you are not able to return your completed card during her office hours, put your card in the display (labeled FFE) next to her office, Rm. 2610. She will place a new card in an envelope with your name on it and put it in the display. The instructor will also be in Rm. 2920 (Fitness Center) M 9-10:15.
Ø You must also have your Chabot College student ID card with you.
v GRADING
Ø The class is graded “Credit or No Credit”. You must complete a minimum number of classes for Credit.
Ø There will be opportunities for extra credit. All information will be posted on Blackboard.
Ø The goal of the class is to get you moving and help you find a type of activity/exercise you will enjoy for a lifetime.
New student or former student must complete an Application for Admission. You can fill out the Application; please allow two (2) business days for your online application for admission to be processed. Once your application has been processed, you may Register online.
