The Foster Youth Success Program (FYSP) was created to ensure that youth transitioning from the foster care system have the help, resources, and support services they need to succeed at Chabot College.

Our goal is to increase the number of current and emancipated youth from foster care who enroll and successfully graduate from Chabot College.


We Achieve This By

  1. Shepherding prospective students from foster care through Chabot College’s enrollment process.
  2. Connecting current and former foster youth to support services at Chabot College as well as those available at local organizations and foster care agencies.
  3. Providing direct service and support to influence their personal and educational growth.

In order to receive support from the Foster Youth Success Program (FYSP), you must be enrolled or in the process of being enrolled at Chabot.
You must also be either a current or former:

  1. Foster youth, or
  2. Ward of the court, or
  3. Kinship care placed youth.
