Amber Sammons
Head Volleyball Coach

Coach Sammons is entering her 6th season with the Lady Gladiators Volleyball program. She is a gladiator alumni herself, spending 2 years at Chabot after finishing high school at Castro Valley High. While at Chabot she played both volleyball and ran track. She received all conference honors for volleyball as well setting (and currently still holding) the school’s pole vaulting record. Sammons was the recipient of the Chabot College Tenny
award. After Chabot Sammons was awarded a volleyball scholarship at the University of Maine. While in Maine,
Sammons started for the Black Bears as both a defensive specialist as well as a libero. From Maine coach Sammons headed to Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo to earn her Masters Degree. While working on her master’s degree she assisted with the Cuesta Cougars Volleyball team and taught both volleyball and strength training classes at Cal Poly. Coach Sammons loves the challenges and the victories that come with coaching. Volleyball is her passion. She is also a full-time PE instructor at Chabot College.
Katie Perry
Asst. Coach
This is Katie's 2nd year coaching at Chabot College. She is an alumni of both Chabot College as well as the Chabot College Volleyball program. Katie just finished her playing career at Bethany College in Scotts Valley. Katie was an all conference setter here at Chabot as well as at Bethany College. She will be a dynamic addition to the coaching staff here at Chabot. Katie is currently pursuing her masters degree in sports psychology at Cal State East Bay.

Tootsie is coming to the Lady Gladiator
Program as a student assistant coach this year. She played for
Chabot last year as an outside hitter. Tootsie brings a lot of
enthusiasm to practices.
