CARES Mental Health Student Wellness Ambassador
Position Description
Job Title: Student Wellness Ambassador for the 2023-24 Academic Year
Time period: Summer 2023 Traineeship, Fall-Spring 2023-2024 Internship
Salary: $16 per hour
FTE: Approximately 6 hours/week
Student Wellness Ambassadors are representatives of Chabot College’s CARES Mental Health team. They are the liaisons between the Chabot College student community and the CARES mental health counseling services. The Student Wellness Ambassadors’ goals are to:
- Encourage help-seeking behavior
- Reduce stigma surrounding mental health
- Roster a supportive and inclusive campus culture by promoting social connectedness.

Responsibilities
- Able to work ~ 6 hours per week of Student Wellness Ambassador activities/meetings
- Able to meet with Wellness Ambassador Leadership program staff on a weekly basis (schedule TBA)
- Able to participate in Summer 2023 Traineeship and Fall-Spring 2023-2024 Internship
Summer 2023 Traineeship Dates
- In-Person Orientation: Tuesday, June 6th 10-1pm
- Summer Trainings: June 6th - Jun 23rd - Tuesday, Thursday 10-1pm, and Friday 10-12pm
Fall 2023 Training & Planning Dates
- In-Person Trainings: Tuesdays 3-5pm
- Wellness Ambassador Meetings: Friday 10-11am
- Outreach and event times: TBA
Application Criteria
- Past leadership experience or interest in leadership experience at Chabot College
- Current Chabot College student in good academic standing (2.5 GPA or higher)
- A cohort of 6-8 Student Wellness Ambassadors will be selected
- Applicants will be contacted for virtual interviews (Zoom)
Application Due May 15th
Resume & Cover Letter due within one week of applying and later than May 17h by 12pm. Interviews will be held the week of May 22nd
