In the Fall 2005 Student
Satisfaction Survey, students were asked how often they had initiated various
types |
|
of learning activities both within and
outside of their classrooms at Chabot. These types of activities are used in |
|
national surveys to measure how engaged students are in their own
learning. |
|
|
|
|
|
Only a few students had neverasked questions in class
or been in a small class discussion group. Forty-five |
|
percent of students had never been in a
study group and 30 percent had never met with their instructor to discuss |
|
their assignments or their progess.
However, more students met often with their instructors in 2005 than in 2003. |
|
The Fall 2005 Student Satisfaction Survey was conducted in October
2005 in a representative sample |
|
|
of seventy-five course sections and was
completed by 1,605 students (62% full-time and 38% part-time). |
|
|
