Faculty Senate Presidential Election

The Chabot College Faculty Senate is holding an election for the next Faculty Senate President. The elected will serve in the position for the 2025-2027 term that ends June 30, 2027. 

Candidate Statement

I am honored to be nominated for Chabot Faculty Senate President. Thank you for your support—it means a lot. I'm committed to helping both our students and faculty succeed.

Over the past two years, I’ve worked with many of you on important initiatives, such as ensuring that faculty voices are included in the Common Course Numbering template development process and drafting a resolution supporting student and faculty agency in determining the appropriate math placement. I ensured that our senate regularly discussed important issues, such as the impact of AI on learning, teaching, and academic integrity. I’ve made sure faculty voices are included in these matters, and I am eager to continue this work.

I'm also passionate about protecting academic freedom and advocating for equity and inclusion. In our current political climate, it is more important than ever that we continue to teach and learn without fear. I have been actively involved in statements and resolutions that reaffirm our commitment to academic freedom and Chabot College’s sanctuary status.

As Faculty Senate President, I’d continue working for positive change and advocating for all faculty. My approach to leadership is based on collaboration, transparency, and taking meaningful action that benefits our campus. I believe we are strongest when we work together, and I’m committed to leading in a way that supports faculty voices, encourages innovation in our teaching, and helps Chabot stay a place where both students and educators can succeed.

Voting

Voting will close on Friday, May 16th at 11:59pm.

 Faculty may access their ballot through CLASS-Web by following the instructions below. 
  1. Login to MyPortal.
  2. Click on the Faculty/Staff Menu.
  3. Scroll down and select Elections / Student and Staff Surveys on the Faculty/Staff Menu page.
  4. Select Chabot Faculty Senate President Election.
  5. Fill out your ballot. You may select a candidate by clicking the bubble next to the candidate's name or you may write in a candidate using the comments box.
  6. Submit your ballot by selecting the Survey Complete button.
    Note: Once you submit the ballot you may not make any changes and you will not be able to access the ballot again.
