Chabot weekly sports roundup, Feb 27th

 The Chabot baseball team (6-6) completed a productive week with back-to-back wins over Diablo Valley, 11-5, and Contra Costa, 10-1, and has four victories in its past five games.
 Levi Noddin went six strong innings to get the win against the Comets, and Vincent Volpatti, a leadoff hitter and shortstop, highlighted the win over the Vikings with a home run and four RBI.
 Noddin (2-0) allowed four hits and one earned run, striking out four and walking one.
 A trio of relievers, Augusto Pineda, Jacob Knight, and T.J. Meyers, each worked a scoreless inning. Adam Hollar was 2 for 3 with four RBI, belting a two-run homer.
 Volpatti stayed hot against Contra Costa with two hits, two RBI and two runs scored, and leads the team in hits (18), batting average (.409), RBI (10), and stolen bases (5).
 The Gladiators will conclude nonconference play with four games this week, before opening Coast-Golden Gate play at West Valley on March 7.
 Chabot is at Canada-Redwood City on Tuesday, and then will host Solano and Cabrillo on Wednesday and Thursday, both at 2 p.m. The Gladiators will conclude a busy week at Hartnell on Saturday.

 The Gladiators (3-5, 0-1) dropped their Coast-North opener to Ohlone 5-2 on Feb. 23.
 Leadoff Amanda Coley, a center fielder, highlighted the Gladiators’ effort, going 3 for 3 with a run scored. Shortstop Desiree Gonzalez had an RBI and a run scored. Kathleen Perscheid was strong in relief, allowing no earned runs and one hit over three innings, with three strikeouts and no walks.
 Chabot is at De Anza on Wednesday and will host Butte in a doubleheader on Saturday, beginning at noon.

 The Gladiators are preparing to compete in the De Anza Invitational on Friday.

 Chabot shot a 3-over 353 as a team to take first place at the recent 13-team Stanford Community College Invitational Golf Tournament.
 The Gladiators took the top three individual spots. Anthony Gutierrez was the medalist with a 66, followed by Jacob Malone and Tyler McDaniel, both at 69. Heetae Yang was tied for seventh with a 73, and Scott Morris (76) and Zack McClure (79) rounded out the Chabot top six.
 Impressively, the Gladiators took first place by 25 shots.

The Gladiators' fine season ended with a 77-47 loss to hot-shooting Foothill in the second round of the CCCAA Northern California playoffs. De'Zire Hall paced Chabot with a game-high 25 points, shooting 10 for 18 from the floor, and grabbing nine rebounds.
Hall finished tied for eighth in the state in both points per game (20.1) and rebounds per game (11.7). Tylore Bell wound up No. 3 in the state averaging 7.5 assists.
