What is a Construction Manager?
Construction managers plan, coordinate, and supervise construction projects from beginning to end. They ensure projects stay on schedule, within budget, and follow safety and building codes. They may work on homes, commercial buildings, roads, bridges, or other infrastructure.
How to Become One
Most construction managers have a degree or cerfications in construction management. Some start with experience in a construction trade and work their way up. Many begin as assistants and learn through on-the-job training. Larger companies often prefer candidates with both formal education and hands-on experience.

Work Environment
Construction managers split their time between offices and construction sites. They may travel between locations and often work full time, sometimes including evenings or weekends. They must be ready to solve problems quickly and make sure everything runs smoothly on-site.
