State of California - Employment Development Department
If your employer has reduced your hours or shut down operations due to COVID-19, you can file an Unemployment Insurance (UI) claim . UI provides partial wage replacement benefit payments to workers who lose their job or have their hours reduced, through no fault of their own."

Instacart is looking to hire hundreds of thousands of workers to meet surging demand for grocery deliveries as millions of people are urged to stay home. The on-demand grocery startup said it wants to hire 300,000 "full-service shoppers" in North America over the next three months.

Meals for children in Hayward, CA
Tuesday, March 17 - Friday, March 27, 11 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Grab-and-go breakfast and lunch will be provided to children under 18 years of age. Child must be present to receive meals - no identification is required. 
CVUSD will offer “Grab and Go” meals for any person age 18 and under (students & non-students). Meal service will include a hot lunch to go and bagged breakfast for the following day. Pick-up available from 11am-12:30pm at Creekside Middle School Cafeteria 19722 Center Street.
 
During this current school dismissal period, the New Haven Unified School District will have four (4) sites available throughout the District for NO COST “Grab and Go” breakfasts and lunches for all students. “Grab and Go” locations are: James Logan High, Cesar Chavez Middle, Alvarado Elementary, and Hillview Crest Elementary School from 9am to 12 pm. To minimize unnecessary trips, students will be given two days’ worth of breakfasts and lunches on Mondays and three days’ worth on Wednesdays. Students must be present to pick up these meals.


Oakland Unified School District
    
During the school closure, OUSD Nutrition Services Department will open 12 schools throughout the city where “Grab and Go” breakfast and lunch meals will be available for students. The sites are listed in the link above and will be open on Mondays and Thursdays from 8 am12 noon for children to pick up multiple days worth of food to take home. Please bring a grocery bag or cooler to bring food home for the week. Food is available free of charge to any child under 18.

San Leandro Unified School District
During the closure of SLUSD schools from March 16 to April 3, meals will be offered for free to all children under 18 regardless of meal program eligibility. We will be serving meals at the following locations from 12:00-12:45 pm every weekday beginning Monday, March 16 until school resumes: San Leandro High School - 2200 Bancroft Avenue, John Muir Middle School - 1444 Williams Street Monroe Elementary School - 3750 Monterey Boulevard


San Lorenzo Unified School District

Some students may become newly eligible for CalFRESH due to many businesses closing down and having lost their job recently. We would be happy to assist any student or community member in applying for CalFRESH. Chabot College FRESH Pantry
Due to the 'shelter-in-place' order, our FRESH pantry is closed. However, we are working on a grab-and-go food option in April, provided that work conditions allow for this.
