Jason Ames (he/him) is a Professor of Communication Studies and the current Director of the Speech and Debate team. A Chabot College alumnus, he has a Masters Degree in Communication from CSU, Hayward and a Masters Degree in Education (Social Justice and Equity) from SFSU. Jason also currently serves as the Grievance Officer for the Faculty Association. Jason was also formerly an Instructor in the Change It Now! Social Justice learning community, the department coordinator for Communication Studies, President of the Northern California Forensics Association, and Vice President of the Academic/Faculty Senate. In his spare time Jason actively supports groups that work to eliminate poverty, hunger, and homelessness. He also enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, doing yoga, playing board and video games, rooting for the Giants/Sharks/Warriors and playing golf.
