Laurie brings over 30 years of clinical experience, leadership and research to Chabot College Dental Hygiene Program. She has been the 2nd year clinical coordinator since 2023. Laurie started teaching when she was a graduate student at UC San Francisco. In graduate school Laurie's research on Burnout in dental hygienist has been published in the Journal of Dental Hygiene. Originally from Mountain View, Ca, she attended Foothill College Dental Assisting Program, UC San Francisco Dental Hygiene Program, and UC San Francisco Dental Hygiene graduate program where she received a Masters in Science in Dental Hygiene. At UCSF Laurie was awarded the Elizabeth Fuhrimann Award, which shows her leadership, academic success, service to the community, and kindness to others. Laurie and her husband Rolando live in Union City and have 5 children.
