Meet the Team

My name is Katie Messina-Silva and I am a counselor with the Chabot Dream Center. I am here to support you in reaching your personal and academic goals. I can help incoming and current Chabot students with residency questions, AB 540/ SB 68 & residency reclassification petitions, CA Dream Act Application for financial aid & scholarships, as well as counselor related questions such as choosing classes, making a Student Education Plan, transfer and career, personal concerns, and much more!  I will be away on Maternity Leave through April, 2022. 

Hola! My name is Maria Gutierrez, and I am currently serving as the counselor/coordinator for the Chabot Dream Center. I can help incoming and current Chabot students with residency questions, AB 540/ SB 68 & residency reclassification petitions, CA Dream Act Application for financial aid & scholarships, as well as counselor related questions such as choosing classes, making a Student Education Plan, transfer and career, personal concerns, and much more! I also help coordinate the Dream Center services, workshops, and trainings for Staff and faculty. I also serve as the co-advisor for the Chabot Dreamers Club. 

My name is Abby Patton, the Dean of Academic Pathways and Student Success at Chabot College. I support our Guided Pathways work, the First Year Experience Program, Dual Enrollment, K-12 Career Pathways, Chabot College academic support programs, El Centro, the Dream Center and our Adult Education Program.
