AGS Honor Society: Getting Started
Welcome!
Now that you have decided to check out Alpha Gamma Sigma, there are three things to do to get involved. You can do them in any order you choose, but attending a Membership Orientation first will help you understand how the club works.
You can begin your participation in AGS in three steps. More details can be found below.
RSVP and attend a Membership Orientation. This Orientation will give you all the info you need to understand the club procedures of AGS. The dates will be listed below by the second week of the new semester.
Once new members have attended a Membership Orientation, they will be added into the AGS Canvas shell, where membership materials can be uploaded.
Attend a club meeting and get involved (the fun part). If you cannot attend weekly club meetings, you can still participate by joining in club activities noted in AGS Canvas, Discord and Instagram.
Membership Orientations
Have questions? Stop by a Membership Orientation to meet with the club officers and advisor for a 45-60 min intro about Alpha Gamma Sigma Honor Society and review the steps for eligibility, how "points" work and how to keep track of them. The rest of the time is open for Q & A and assistance with the Enrollment process.
Membership Orientations are held via Zoom. Please use the hyperlink to register for the Orientation you'd like to attend.

AGS Canvas
AGS members use a Canvas shell to submit membership materials, share announcements and connect with other club members in between meetings. The process to get added into the AGS Canvas has changed slightly beginning Fall 2023.
To join the AGS Canvas:
FALL SEMESTER
- NEW & RETURNING MEMBERS: Attend a Membership Orientation. This is when you will be added into AGS Canvas.
SPRING SEMESTER
- NEW MEMBERS: Attend a Membership Orientation. This is when you will be added into AGS Canvas
- RETURNING MEMBERS: You were added into AGS Canvas this Fall, so you will remain in AGS Canvas for Spring. (No new action is needed).

You earn "points" by being involved in club activities.
Due dates to be aware of
Please be aware that there is a deadline for membership each semester which falls on the Thursday of the 12th week of the semester. By this date, it's expected that your enrollment form, transcript, and membership fee will have been received.
Prospective/new and returning members who do not submit materials in time, may continue participating in club functions after this date, but they may not be eligible for official membership for that semester without these materials being received by the due date. Contact the advisor directly with any inquiries or concerns.
