Noncredit Program in English Composition

The English Department offers noncredit courses and a Certificate of Competency for students who complete any two noncredit courses.

All noncredit classes are TUITION FREE for students.

Students who choose noncredit classes:

  • Prefer learning step by step at a slower pace
  • Did not get a lot of experience reading and writing in high school
  • Want to refresh reading and writing skills typically taught in high school
  • Prefer a course that builds English vocabulary and comprehension
  • Want more time and support before taking college-level English 1 for a letter grade
  • Want extra help in reading and writing while completing English 1

All noncredit classes are TUITION FREE for students. Complete two courses and students will receive a Certificate of Competency.
