Need help picking your classes?

For new Chabot student in Spring 23, and have never attended college – sign up for a First Semester Planning Session now 

For all other students: See a counselor on drop in (in-person and virtual available) during our hours. Please note this is for a one semester educational plan.

If you have an AP2 or Dismissal hold, and are being blocked from registering, please email: cc-counseling@chabotcollege.edu 

For priority registration, be sure to complete the Core Services:

  • Student Education plan: get help from a counselor picking classes for your next semester. For a one semester plan, feel free to visit Drop-In counseling during our hours

 

TYPES OF SERVICE & HOURS

Drop-in Counseling

In-person or online drop-in is available until the posted time OR until capacity is reached.
This Is a brief session (maximum 30 minutes) for support with the following reasons:

  • Quick questions
  • Academic/Progress Probation 1
  • One semester planning (SEPA) 
  • Submitting Forms - for example: 
    • Excess units
    • Petition to repeat
    • Prerequisite overrides & challenges
    • Prerequisite challenges
    • Substitution waivers

Counseling Appointments

Can happen either in-person or online. This is a 45 minute appointment for support with the following reasons.

  • Financial Aid Hold Removal
  • Academic Probation 2 and Dismissal Hold Removal
  • For other inquiries, see Drop-in Services

Scheduling an Appointment 

Types of Appointments: In-Person or Phone/Virtual Chat

Appointments can be conducted in-person or by phone/virtual chat. In-person appointments are held in Building 700 - 2nd fl, Room 752. Before requesting an in-person appointment, please review Campus Vaccination Requirements & Campus Parking details.

Days & times in which both in-person and phone/virtual appointments are available:

  • Mon 9-1pm
  • Tues 9-1pm
  • Wed 9-1pm
  • Thursday 9-11am

Days & times in which just phone/virtual appointments are available:  

  • Tues 2:30-6:30 
  • Wed 2:30-6:30 
  • Thursday 12-4pm
How to Schedule an Appointment

To schedule a virtual or in-person appointment*,

  • Name
  • W Number
  • Phone Number
  • Preference for in-person or phone service
  • Availability
  • Reason for appointment
  • Counselor preference (optional)
