Accessing Canvas
Default Canvas Login Credentials
Username: Your User Identification Number (including the W)
Password: the first two letters of your first name, followed by the first two letters of your
last name (all lowercase), followed by the last four digits of your User Identification
Number.
For example, Maria Valdez with a User Identification Number of W12345678 would log in as:
Username: W12345678 (the W is uppercase)
Password: mava5678 (all lowercase letters + last four digits)
Forgot Password
If you clicked on the Forgot Password link, Canvas will automatically send reset instructions to your Zonemail account.
Step 1: Request a Reset
Please email cc-onlinelearning@chabotcollege.edu to request help resetting your password. We will respond to that email after resetting your password to the Canvas default.

Step 2: Use Your Default Password to Access Canvas
Once you receive confirmation that we've reset your password, please use your personal default to log in to Canvas.
Step 3: Change Your Password
Upon successfully logging in to Canvas, we recommend updating your password for security purposes.
Please note: It can take up to 24 hours (after you've registered for a class) for your course access to appear in your Canvas Dashboard.
If it's been longer than 24 hours, please email cc-onlinelearning@chabotcollege.edu and include your:
- Name; and,
- W number; and,
- Course information (course name, instructor, CRN).
We aim to respond within 24 hours during regular business hours.
