This is another good, short guide on critical reading with useful questions to ask yourself while reading. This site focuses on finding and evaluating an author’s thesis, evidence, and counterevidence in order to see the effectiveness of a text.

The Fundamentals of Critical Reading
A useful, though more academic resource for reading nonfiction, this site explains facts v. interpretation, goals of critical reading, analysis and making inferences.
