Students come to Chabot for many reasons. Some students just want to take a few classes for their own enjoyment, some students come to do a vocational program like our nursing or dental hygiene, and others use Chabot as a stepping stone towards a four-year college/bachelor's degree. Whoever you are and whatever your goal, we are happy that you are here to take advantage of our academic programs.
Many students come to Chabot for personal enrichment, to take classes that they are interested in for their own personal growth.
Requires a minimum of 20 semester units for certificates of achievement and 10 semester units for certificates of completion.
Develops skills in a specific technical and/or vocational field
No general education requirement
Chabot College offers over 35 different certificate programs.
AA/AS Degree
A minimum of 60 semester units (approximately two years of full time study)
Has both major and AA general education OR AS general education requirements
Chabot College offers over 60 different associate degree programs.
Transfer Preparation
Provides the first two years of a four-year college or university program
Includes lower division general education (IGETC or CSUGE) and major preparation courses
Chabot College can assist with transfer preparation for any major to any transfer four-year school
