National Association of Financial Aid Administrators

  • Supports financial aid professionals at colleges, universities, and career schools.
  • NASFAA is the only national association with a primary focus on student aid legislation, regulatory analysis, and professional development for financial aid administrators.

PIN Request

  • http://pin.ed.gov
  • The PIN serves as your identifier to let you access your personal information in various U.S. Department of Education systems.
  • It is like the Personal Identification Number that you get from your bank that enables you to access your account. Because your PIN serves as your electronic signature, you should not give it to anyone.
  • If you are a dependent student your parent will also need a PIN, to serve as their signature.

Pre-Loan Counseling

  • To ensure that you understand the responsibility and the obligation you are assuming, the federal government requires you to participate in loan counseling prior to receiving a Stafford Loan, if you have not previously received such loan at Chabot College.

  • A network of national service programs that engage more than 50,000 Americans each year in intensive service to meet critical needs in education, public safety, health, and the environment.

ASPIRE Program

  • The ultimate goal of ASPIRE is to help students graduate and transfer to a four year college or university. During individual advising sessions, Counselors discuss majors of interest, college and university identification, the application process, and financial aid and scholarship assistance. Students will also have opportunities to visit local four year colleges and universities and speak to representatives from various campuses.

Daraja Program

  • The Daraja Program is a learning community designed to promote transfer and to increase academic and personal success. This program, based at the Chabot College Hayward, California campus, addresses students’ needs through academic support services and a curriculum focused on African-American literature, history, and issues facing the African-American community.
