Finding images can sometimes be a bit like finding a needle in a haystack. Since there are no color copiers and printers on campus and copiers have very limited types of papers and enlargement capabilities, it is best to plan finding your images and graphics in advance. Keep in mind that cutting out anything from a magazine, journal, newspaper or book from the Library's collection is vandalism. You can check-out books and magazines and can certainly save what you find on the Web onto a floppy disk (or Email to yourself the image as an attachment). Saving onto a floppy disk requires you to use the Student Computer Lab (not the reference computers). Any requests for checking out a reference book requires approval from the librarian and will require you to leave your Student ID or Driver's License with the Library. Color copiers and printers are available at copy services such as Kinko's. Costs for color copies at such services are usually $1 per page. Some copier services may refuse to do any copying for you based on copyright restrictions, but you can use any self-service copiers or printers.

This Library Research Guide provides tips on how to find images on the World Wide Web as well as how to find images from traditional books in the Library. There are many search engines specifically designed for finding images that have been posted on Web sites. Once you find images, you can then save the image onto a disk or print. Do pay attention to any copyright restrictions, when relevant. Below is an example of finding an image from AlltheWeb:
