Chabot College and JVS will be working together to offer a ten-week refresher course for State of California Registered Nurses, both foreign trained and U.S. trained, who need to brush up their theory and clinical skills before re-entering the workforce. Class will be held June 1 through August 6, 2009. A separate application will be required through Annie Nogg at JVS.

There is approximately 260 total hours in the RN Refresher Course, including hours of didactic, lab and clinical experience. The semester is divided into an introductory first two weeks of classroom and lab practices; and eight weeks following of clinical rotations and didactic work. Current Medical and Dental Exams will be required as well as current immunization records.
The curriculum is based upon three predominant threads as the foci for preparing students to begin or re-enter work force as an registered nurses. These threads include: 1. Nursing Concept, 2. Professionalism in Nursing and 3. Clinical Applications.
