Blackboard Elluminate Live- CCC Confer update
For those of you using CCC Confer or Elluminate Live with your Blackboard course, you probably noticed an updated interface. CCC Confer and Elluminate, both powered by Blackboard Collaborate, received a significant face lift over the Summer. The new interface is a bit more elegant and makes it even easier for you to conduct web conferences with students or other faculty for committee needs. Training on CCC Confer is provided free for CA community college faculty and staff at  http://www.cccconfer.org/trainingCenter/trainingCenter.aspx.

Faculty Web Sites

All faculty, teaching online or on-campus classes, can make use of the  Faculty Website Builder to create their own faculty website. This web tool is user-friendly and offers faculty the opportunity to have a location to post information for anyone to access online. Many instructors choose to use their faculty websites to post information for prospective students who may be interested in taking their course in a future semester (such as a Syllabus or textbooks). To get started with your own Faculty Website visit /facsites/.

Drop-in Student Assistance
Please remind your students that they can drop into the Student Online Services lab (building 700, room 709) for in-person guidance with Blackboard and Online Learning needs. Current hours are posted at  /online/DropIn/. Students requiring technical support (such as password resets or tech-issues) should still be directed to use the help form at  /online/help/default.asp or email  onlinelearning@chabotcollege.edu.

Rubrics:
Our current version of Blackboard includes the feature of Rubrics. A rubric is a tool that lists the evaluation criteria for an assignment or other course content. Blackboard rubrics can be used to inform students about how a particular item will be graded, and even to help an instructor streamline the process of grading an assignment. More information, and instructional videos on rubrics can be found at  /OnlineTeaching/Blackboard
/guides/ or visit our help form to request in-person assistance.

Other functions are available using the Blackboard Mobile App (see article, left).
