The Chabot College baseball team rallied past host Cabrillo 4-3 on Saturday to sweep the best-of-three series in the CCCAA Northern Super Regional and advance to the next round.
Chabot scored three times in the bottom of the eighth inning to overcome a 3-1 deficit. Jesse Lewis broke the 3-3 tie with a triple that drove in Michael Echavia. Also in the rally, Max Sanderson singled and scored, and Cal Stevenson walked and scored.
Stevenson also got the save, striking out Jordan Peabody to end the game with runners at first and second in the ninth.
Starter Jacob Knight (6-1) went four solid innings to get the victory, allowing one unearned run and four hits, with two walks and four strikeouts.
The Gladiators (27-13), seeded 10th, also defeated the fourth-seeded Seahawks 9-2 on Friday.
Chabot also swept Laney in the regional 2-0 (14-2, 8-1).
Chabot will travel to No. 1 Santa Rosa (33-8) in the Northern Section, for a best of three series Friday-Sunday. The Gladiators are one series victory away from a berth in the State Championship round.
Runner-up in the powerful Coast-Golden Gate Conference, Chabot has won six games in a row.
