Transfer Articulation

• An formal agreement where one college agrees to accept another college's courses toward their degrees
• Articulation is typically one directional
• Articulation is decided by the college "receiving" the course
• NOTE: To transfer courses completed at Chabot College to another college/university, please completed an online official transcript request with Chabot College Admissions and Records. 

Types of articulation

Most courses do not qualify for every articulation type. 

• Elective: Courses applied towards unit requirements
  • University of California Transfer Course Agreement (UC TCA) 
  • California State University (CSU) Transfer Course List
• Transfer General Education (GE) 
  • Cal-GETC
•  Department: articulation agreements between two colleges

•  C-ID (Course Identification Numbering System): Common course identifiers for many community college courses (CSU only)

  • NOTE: C-ID approval does not necessarily equate with GE or department articulation

*Community college articulation is generally only possible with lower-division courses
