Stunt, Cheer & Mascot Team

The purpose of the ASCC Spirit Force is "to promote school spirit, crowd participation, inspire the team and to inspire the team, leading to qualities of leadership." Team members are also active members of the Gladiator Spirit Promoter's Club.

RECRUITMENT PERIOD

Tryouts for the 2012 - 2013 will be held in April.  Persons interested in being a stunt member, cheer member and/or mascot should:

1) Come to Spirit Force open practices in building 2300, the balcony (upstairs) from 3-5pm on Mondays and Friday from February 13th through March 20th.

2) Submit an application HERE before Noon on April 5, 2012 to the Office of Student Life, Room 2355.

All persons wanting to be on the squad are required to meet the qualifications of the ASCC Code. Please view the code and contract HERE.

 UNIFORMS

Currently, the college provides (generally through ASCC Co-Curricular funding) the uniform which must be are returned to the Office of Student Life at the end of the season.  The mascot uniform is provided by the College and must be returned to the Office of Student Life after every event.  All members are expected to purchase and/or participiate in fundraising events to pay for costs of attending professional camp, warm up outfits, and shoes.

RESPONSIBILTIES AND DUTIES OF TEAM MEMBERS

  • Members are expected to abide by the terms of the ASCC CODE.

  • Members are expected to be dedicated to Team activities, which include all games, practices, pep rallies , fundraising activities, and any activity pertaining to the Spirit Force assigned to them by the Advisor, whether or not prescheduled.

  • All team members will be responsible to have their own medical insurance coverage.

  • Members are expected to be mindful of the respected image they represent as leaders of Chabot College both while in uniform and out of uniform, avoiding situations which may tarnish this image.
