Commencement 2021 Virtual Ceremony

Follow these steps and complete them by the due dates

Spring and Summer 2021 candidates will receive an email informing them to order their cap & gown/diploma cover by April 16th. All instructions and links will be included in the email. The estimated delivery is May 7th.

5/13/21

Deadline for all students to upload picture, quote and pronunciation of name by 8:59pm pacific time.

1. When available, the instructions will be posted here on uploading your picture, quote and pronunciation of name.
   

Program

 

On Saturday, May 29th, the virtual Commencement Ceremony will include:

• Congratulatory messages by the Chancellor, Board of Trustees President, Chabot College President, Senate Leadership and Student Keynote Speaker
• Graduating student slideshow with Name, Picture and Certificate/Degree

Drive-Thru Reception

This will be an in-person celebration at Chabot College on Saturday May 29 at 3:00 pm.
Graduates will drive around the campus for congratulatory greetings, professional graduation photos, and receive a special graduation gift.
RSVP online when submitting your photo for the Virtual Commencement Ceremony.

Special assistance: How can you request accommodations?

Graduates or their guests requiring special assistance, such as an interpreter for the deaf or mobility assistance, contact:

1. Nathaniel Rice at nrice@chabotcollege.edu to find out more or to set up accommodations.
2. Alternatively, you may call and leave your contact information and special need request with the Disabled Student’s Programs and Services front desk at 510-723-6725.

Diploma/Certificates: When will you receive them?

• No diplomas or certificates will be distributed at the ceremony.
• For spring candidates, you will receive notification via email when your diploma is being mailed out to you. 

Summer graduates, can you participate?

If you anticipate completion of your graduation requirements by the end of Summer 2021, follow the above steps to be included in this year’s Commencement.

Additional viewing options: Can you view the ceremony online or on TV?

The Commencement Ceremony will be:

1. Shown on this webpage;
2. Shown simultaneously on Comcast 27 (in the Hayward, San Leandro, Union City, and San Lorenzo areas) and on Channel 99 for AT&T U-Verse.

After the premiere showing on May 29th, 10:00 am, the virtual Commencement Ceremony video will be availabe on this page, for viewing by anyone and at anytime.
