Please be aware that some users are experiencing an issue with MS Outlook. We have traced the problem to a back-up device as opposed to the actual mail system. ITS has been working around the clock to get this resolved. We recommend using the web-based MS Outlook alternative

Drop-in Counseling


IN PERSON SERVICE IS CURRENTLY SUSPENDED.  PLEASE POST QUESTIONS TO eSARS ONLINE SERVICE AT http://www.chabotcollege.edu/counseling/online/index.php
This service is ideal for picking up forms, campus referrals and prerequisite overrides. Appointment is not necessary.

Drop-in Hours: Visit the Counseling Appointment Desk to check for service availability. 

This service is currently impacted--please plan on arrving 90 minutes before closing.

Spring Semester: January 13-May 15 (Closed March 23-27)

  • Mon:   9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Tues:  9:00 AM - 7:30 PM
  • Wed:   9:00 AM - 1:00 PM; 3:00 - 7:30 PM
  • Thurs: 9:00 AM - 7:30 PM
  • Fri:      9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Counseling is conducted via eSARS or Cranium Cafe. 

This is ideal for:

  • Students taking online classes or they live too far from campus.
  • Simple questions not requiring immediate response.

Same-day, Same Week Appointments 

for academic counseling may be booked online or by email (see instructions below). Because openings often occur because of cancellation, availability may vary. Scheduling for same day appointments starts at 8:30 a.m. Monday-Friday.

Email your request to cc-counseling@chabotcollege.edu, and provide all of the following:

  • On the subject line, write Appointment 
  • In the email body, provide;
    • Your name,
    • Your W Number (last 4 digits only)
    • Your phone number
    • Your availability
    • The reason for your visit

Who may schedule an appointment?

Appointments can be scheduled by students who are:

  1. Currently enrolled, or
  2. Returning and have reapplied for admission, or
  3. Transferring from another college and have applied for admission.

BEFORE scheduling an appointment, students:

  1. Must have a Chabot College Student ID (W Number).
  2. Must bring unofficial transcripts from other colleges attended to the appointment unless you have submitted official transcripts to Admissions and Records.
  3. May schedule an appointment within the current booking calendar (2 - 3 weeks in advance)
  4. May only schedule one appointment at a time.

Important Notes

  • As a courtesy to other students and staff we ask:
    Students should be on time for their appointment. There is a computer for appointment self check in. If your counselor does not come out to get you at your appointment time please notify front desk staff immediately.
  • Canceling an appointment: 
    Please come in person to the counseling front desk to notify in advance if you cannot keep your appointment and need to cancel or reschedule. Appointments will be canceled if students are more than 10 minutes late. *Students who have lost appointment privileges due to missed appointments may petition to the Dean of Counseling for reinstatement.
